Sports brands to create 100 jobs in Nottingham

The Speedo HQ on NG2 business park

Pentland Brands, the company behind global brand names such as Speedo, Mitre, Ellesse, Boxfresh and Berghaus, has announced a major recruitment drive in Nottingham.

The company says it is set to create over 100 jobs in the city across a range of roles including product innovation, marketing, sales and finance.

Nottingham has been the home of swimwear brand, Speed, since it was bought by Pentland in 1990. Now, it is bringing its Teamsports brands – rugby brand, Canterbury and football brand, Mitre – to its Nottingham headquarters, on the NG2 business park.

Sean Hastings, gobal marketing director for Pentland Brands, said: “We know there’s great talent across the region, so it’s an ideal time to grow our multi-brand team here at our East Midlands HQ. Speedo has a fantastic track record of innovative design and now we’ll be able to share this expertise with our Teamsports brands.”

Nottingham remains the home of Speedo, with Pentaland saying it will become the principal site for its sales, marketing, product and innovation teams across its portfolio of Active brands.

Hastings added: “These developments will help us to better manage our brands and opens up a broader range of career opportunities for our teams to work across multiple brands and projects. To do this we’re launching academies that will help our people develop these specialist skills.”

Pentland Brands products are available in over 190 countries and it employs more than 1,800 people.

Following the recruitment drive, Pentland Brands will employ around 200 people in Nottingham, plus 72 field-based or flexible location roles.
