Wheatcroft Land gets green light for Lincs development

A plan to build 14 new homes in the Lincolnshire village of Ancaster have been given the go-ahead.

Developer Wheatcroft Land submitted the proposals, which will see a former garage and petrol station turned into a residential development alongside a new Co-Op store which opened in 2016.

Pygott & Crone looked after the land sale and is marketing the properties, which include a range of two- and three-bedroom homes.

Director of Wheatcroft Land, Catherine Haward said: “We are delighted to have achieved planning permission to bring these 14 new homes to Ancaster. The Co-Op store opened last year, totally changing the face of this former petrol station site, and this is the final part of that.

“We are hoping that work will start on site during the early part of this year and are really looking forward to getting this exciting project underway.”

This is the first residential scheme Wheatcroft Land has taken on since Haward took control of the business, which was set up by her father in 1989.

She added: “The demand for housing across the UK is huge and that is no different in Lincolnshire, with house prices across the region creeping up so it was a great time for us to move into the residential market.”

The development will comprise 14 properties of two and three bedrooms with a combination of both terraced and semi-detached properties throughout.
