Construction firm hands over care home after multi-million build

Burcot Grange

A new multi-million-pound care home in Worcestershire has been handed over to operators following the completion of its construction project.

Nottingham-based Clegg Construction built the new facility in Bromsgrove as part of a £4.6m contract with Cinnamon Care Capital.

The care home, called The Lodge at Burcot Grange, will provide 54 en-suite bedrooms along with a hairdressing salon, coffee shop, life-skills kitchen, reception area and extensive landscaped gardens.

Primarily for residents with dementia, the building is adjacent to the existing Burcot Grange care home, operated by the Cinnamon Care Collection, which is based in an extended Victorian country house.

Simon Blackburn, Managing Director of Clegg Construction, said: “This was an excellent development to work on. We were conscious of having to work in a live environment alongside the existing care home and we worked closely with the operators and staff to ensure disruption was kept to a minimum.”

Ken MacKenzie, Development Director at Cinnamon Care Capital, said: “The development at Burcot Grange further extends the facilities of the existing care home Burcot Grange.”

The Lodge is the second project Clegg Construction has completed for Cinnamon after it opened its Cedar Mews complex in Birstall, Leicestershire in January 2017.

The £5.1m facility featured 73 bedrooms, a cinema, bar, lounge and beauty salon as well as specialist facilities for residents with dementia.
