Cherry Professional gives something back with £4,000 charity collection
Staff at East Midlands-based recruitment expert Cherry Professional say they are delighted with their recent Christmas Charity collection in aid of local charities Emmanuel House, Central Women’s Aid and Midlands Women’s Aid.
Staff and clients have been busy over the last month collecting new and used gifts for donation to give what they can to those who need it most. Last year, Cherry Professional completed a collection for charity which was greatly received, and this year the company has totalled the gifts and donations to reach around £4,000 with donations such as TVs, radios, hundreds of and many more.
Central Women’s Aid and Midlands Women’s Aid house women and children fleeing domestic abuse as well as supporting them in the community. Emmanuel house is a charity in Nottingham which helps the homeless.
Melissa Kilday, Cherry Professional’s Marketing Manager said: “As a business we always try to give back where we can. At Christmas when everyone is delivering gifts and are lucky enough to be with those they love, we should always remember those less fortunate than us.
“I can honestly say I have never been part of something so overwhelming and the number of amazing gifts we received almost filled our office. I’d like to thank all our clients and staff for their most generous donations.”
Catherine Saunders, who is the Chief Executive Officer and has been employed by Midlands Women’s Aid for over 20 years,, said: “Christmas is a time of year where the rate of domestic abuse in the household increases and children are more likely to witness the abuse or become a victim themselves.
“Cherry Professional’s generous donations have helped the refuge immensely, and have ensured the children have been provided with a positive experience away from the family home as we believe no child should be forgotten at Christmas. These donations have helped establish and reaffirm that they are now in a safe and loving environment.”
Cherry Professional has offices in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham.
