A Nottingham auction business says it wants to expand in Nottingham, the city where it was established half a century ago.

John Pye Auctions is set to open its sixth showroom at its Nottingham hub.

The new 6,428 sq ft indoor showroom at the site in James Shipstone House on Radford Road, will open on 25 January and will display a variety of stock with a focus on electrical and household items, including cameras, phones, washing machines and furniture.

The firm says the new showroom will help visitor growth and higher stock volumes.

The number of visitors to the Nottingham hub, which is also the company’s headquarters, have continued to grow year on year since it opened in 1995, and over the course of the last 12 months has welcomed over 46,000 people to its five showrooms.

Managing director at John Pye Auctions, Adam Pye, said: “It’s fantastic to be further investing in our Nottingham hub as we continue to see visitor numbers grow, which is a credit to our team here.

“We started in Nottingham 50 years ago and we have worked hard to embed ourselves into the local community by holding charity events and sponsoring local teams – such as Nottingham Forest FC and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

“Buying through an online auction is a smart way to shop and we are really pleased that our customer base in Nottingham is growing and subsequently we are able to further expand in the city where it all began.

“There is also a potential for further growth with the opening of an additional showroom in the next year due to increasing stock volumes, which is brilliant. It’s a very exciting time for the firm and we look forward to another busy year in Nottingham.”

John Pye Auctions has grown from one trading site to 22 across England, Scotland and Wales in the last six years and has grown its workforce from 24 to over 315 in the last 15 years.

John Pye Auctions has five trading departments, all supplying stock and assets for sale: John Pye Retail, John Pye Luxury Assets, John Pye Property, John Pye Business Assets and John Pye Vehicles.
