Construction firm secures place on £1.1bn procurement framework

Morgan Sindall

Midlands-headquartered construction and infrastructure company, Morgan Sindall, has been appointed to public sector procurement specialist Scape Group’s £1.1bn Regional Construction framework.

Warwickshire-based Morgan Sindall has been appointed to the framework’s Lot 7 (Midlands – Upper), which covers the largest projects within the framework and are valued at between £1m to £5m.

The Regional Construction framework provides construction services for public sector projects in the Midlands and East of England, covering Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.

The new framework’s 11 lots are divided into bands by project value, including Lower (up to £750k), Intermediate (£500k – £2.5m) and Upper (£1m – £5m). The four-year framework will have a total value of up to £1.1bn.

The framework will replace the East Midlands Property Alliance (empa) framework, which expires in early 2018.

Sean Bowles, regional managing director at Morgan Sindall, said: “Scape is one of the most significant frameworks shaping the built environment and local communities in the UK today.

“Naturally, we are very pleased to have secured a place on the regional construction framework and to have the opportunity to build on our significant track record of delivery in the region.

“It is fantastic news to begin the New Year with, and we very much look forward to continuing our relationship with Scape and further demonstrating our commitment to delivering a sustainable future for the region.”

Victoria Brambini, managing director of Scape Procure, added: “We are tremendously proud of the success of the empa framework, which has offered an excellent profile of contractors to the public sector in the region and has consistently created new opportunities for local SMEs within their supply chain. The Regional Construction framework builds upon the empa framework aiming to generate greater value for money and project success for the public sector across the region.

“By extending the Regional Construction framework’s reach into the East of England, we will be able to provide public sector organisations with access to a framework that not only delivers high quality and cost-effective services from contractors that have demonstrated the right balance of cost and quality, but crucially also has specific social value objectives.”
