On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Accountancy firm Smith Cooper has added two new faces to its corporate finance team in Nottingham.

Alex Thompson joins as a senior executive from Streets, while James Ward joins as a senior manager after a spell as head of finance at architect Church Lukas. Both will primarily be based at the Nottingham office, but will operate across the wider Midlands.

Thompson said: “Smith Cooper has established a prestigious reputation in the Midlands, and I feel privileged to be working as part of the corporate finance team.”

Ward has worked as a corporate finance adviser in Nottingham for both BDO and Clearwater International and also spent time as a business owner running an engineering consultancy practice.

He said: “I am thrilled to be joining Smith Cooper and looking forward to applying my knowledge to deliver great results for our clients.”

Derbyshire-based house builder Peveril Homes has hired Sue Hunt to join its head office team in Belper.

Hunt joins Peveril Homes with over 30 years’ experience behind her and takes on her new role to oversee, sales progression and customer choices.

She said: “I already knew a couple of the ladies at Peveril Homes and everything I had heard about the company before I joined was very positive.

“The staff are all lovely and friendly, and everyone has made me feel extremely welcome since I walked through the door – I am looking forward to what the future holds with Peveril Homes.”
