Plans submitted for Nottingham’s first champagne bar

Plans for a champagne bar near Nottingham Castle have been submitted to Nottingham City Council.

A company called Leisco Ltd wants to change the ground floor of 92 Friar Lane into a champagne bar called FRENCH 75, creating four jobs.

A planning statememt reads: “FRENCH 75 will seat 25 and be a warm intimate space boasting rich classic design, it will be Nottingham’s first and only Champagne bar serving a classic menu of drinks and complimentary nibbles.

“FRENCH 75 will be an evening bar with variable hours of opening during the day. It will also be available for exclusive private parties, to enjoy Champagne, gin and cocktails.

“The location is a already a destination with select bars and restaurants and we consider that the French 75 concept is complimentary to the current uses and will further enhance the vibrancy and richness of the area.”
