On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Yvonne Atkinson

Nottingham-based civil and electrical Engineering firm McCann has added to its in-house design team with the appointment of lighting design specialist, Yvonne Atkinson.

Atkinson joins McCann in the role of principal design engineer from WSP Parsons Brinckerhoff, where she worked as principal engineer/team leader – and follows former WSP employee Michael Walker – who made the same transition to McCann in 2017.

She brings with her 16 years’ experience within the lighting design sector across both public and private sector positions, supervising and working on the design of various exterior lighting design projects.

Atkinson said: “What I love is that everyone at McCann is striving towards the same goal of completing projects with a focus on quality and safety in the workplace, whilst delivering with enthusiasm and a clear vision.

Steve Annable

Steve Annable has joined Derby-based RIQC as a certification body manager.

Annable has worked in the Rail Industry for nearly 36 years and has significant experience in all aspects of health, safety and environmental management, including the development, implementation and auditing of Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems including Integrated Management Systems.

He is a qualified health, safety, quality and environmental professional, a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and a Practicing Member of IEMA.

Prior to RIQC, Annable developed a thorough knowledge of engineering principles through his involvement for a number of years in rolling stock design, research, acceptance of vehicles, maintenance of both railway traction and rolling stock and the railway infrastructure and has been involved in accident/incident investigations, risk assessments and providing safety consultancy.
