Team Lincolnshire to stage pioneering London event

Team Lincolnshire

Members of the newly formed Team Lincolnshire will gather at an event in London this month – the first time it has held an event outside the area.

Following the launch of the Team Lincolnshire Ambassador Programme in November, the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Lincolnshire County Council are organising a lunch at the Royal Air Force Club in Mayfair on 27th February.

Ursula Lidbetter MBE, chair of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, said: “Team Lincolnshire members are passionate about promoting Lincolnshire as an attractive place to live, work and invest and about encouraging new business investment in the region.

“All members act as ambassadors for our area, fuelling our economy and securing our future. Working together to promote Greater Lincolnshire gives us a much stronger and more passionate voice.

“Since the launch of Team Lincolnshire in October last year 61 businesses have signed up to the programme. We are very pleased to have made such a good start in developing a powerful ambassadorial network for Greater Lincolnshire.”

Lincoln MP Karen Lee and Martin Vickers, MP for Cleethorpes, are both expected to attend the lunch, which will be held on 27th February between 11am and 3pm.

Those attending will have the opportunity to hear from guest speaker Tim Hedley-Jones, major projects director for Virgin Trains, and network with other members, distinguished guests, MPs and councillors.

He said: “We’re delighted to be promoting Greater Lincolnshire as a great place to live and work alongside the Greater Lincolnshire LEP. With the introduction of new direct services between Lincoln and London next year, which will reduce journey times, we’re making Lincoln an even more attractive destination.”
