Packaging firm targets £50m turnover with major HQ expansion

Packaging firm The Wilkins Group has revealed plans to almost double the size of its headquarters in Nottingham.

The family run business has bought extra land, which lies adjacent to the factory on Private Road Number One in Colwick, for a seven figure sum.

The move will see the company take on an extra three acres of land, which currently houses four buildings.

The plans are in the early stages but sales director, Justin Wilkins, said the investment would almost double the business from a £30m business to a £50m firm.

He said: “The plans are still in the very early stages and we are currently talking to architects about what to do with the increased space.”

Wilkins said that the move will mean the company can potentially take on more staff.

The Wilkins Group has worldwide hubs in Sri Lanka, China, Romania, Bangladesh and India.

Earlier this year the company revealed that it was ready to cope with an increased demand for cardboard packaging from supermarket chains, following on from concerns about the amount of plastic that ends up in oceans.
