Plans in for 301-bed Nottingham student scheme

Plans have been submitted to Nottingham City Council to build a 301-bed student accommodation scheme on Huntingdon Street in the city centre.

At present, part of the site is occupied by Aura Designer Furniture (a single-storey building which fronts Huntingdon Street), while the remainder is used as car parking and for two separate commercial single storey storage buildings.

A company called Huntingdon Notts Properties wants to demolish the current single storey retail and storage units on the site and build the bedspaces in 112 cluster apartments. The scheme will be designed by renowned Birmingham-based architects Glenn Howells.
