Nottingham recruitment firm makes city centre move

Recruitment firm Distinct has moved into city centre offices in Nottingham.

The company has relocated to an 8,000 sq ft office at Fothergill House on King Street in a move that has seen it expand rapidly from a 300 sq ft space in West Bridgford with just three staff to 23 staff and a turnover of over £2m just two years later. Distinct says it expects revenue to be in excess of £3m this year.

Distinct was set up in 2016 by James Calder, director Arran Jaiswal, Macildowie founder Paul Macildowie and Michael Dawson, professional footballer with Hull City – and a former Nottingham Forest favourite.

Calder said: “Fothergill House is in an incredible building and we love that we are a part of its new phase, just as for us, this is the next step in our own growth.

“We loved our first home in West Bridgford and it will always have a special place in our hearts as that is where it all began but we needed to move to accommodate our growth and this is perfect.

“It isn’t all about the sheer size and scope of the space either – it is about a feeling of energy, of open communication with other businesses in the building and, of course, being in the bustling heart of the city.

“We’ve grown at an incredible rate by any standards but that growth is sustainable, especially with the pool of talent we have in the city in terms of candidates.

“The good news there is we have the kind of companies here that can offer the sort of career these high calibre individuals want and we look forward to helping both of them as we enter the next chapter of the Distinct story.”
