Vehicle fire closes A46 in Notts

The A46 in Nottinghamshire is closed southbound between A617 and B6166 near Farndon due to a fire involving a vehicle carrying food.

Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue crews are at scene.

Highways England says that traffic travelling southbound should exit the A46 onto the A1 at the Newark junction, continue along the A1 until the Barrowby exit.

At this junction take the A52 westbound and re-join the A46 at the Saxondale roundabout.

Road users are advised to allow additional time for their journeys and to consider alternative routes.
