PR firm opens offices in Lace Market

The Tonic team outside its new headquarters

Nottingham-based PR and events agency The Tonic Communications has moved into the Lace Market in Nottingham and made a raft of appointments.

The agency, which also has offices in Newcastle and London, has recruited a new PR account manager and events manager, as well as a PR account executive.

Lucy Budge, Harley Young and Helen Cummings have all joined the business. Former intern Emily Kirk has also been offered a full-time position within the company, taking on the role of trainee PR account executive.

Tonic’s clients include national optical retailer Vision Express, North East bus operator Go North East and martech agency, the Clicksco Group.

The firm has moved to an office in the renovated building of The Garage Studios.

The building most previously housed nightclub BZR, before that being known as The Garage during the 1980s, as well as Kool Kat and the Lizard Lounge.

It was redeveloped into modern office and working spaces at the beginning of the year, with The Tonic being the first business to make the move onto St Mary’s Gate.

Budge, Young and Kirk will be working in their new roles from the company’s new Nottingham base, while Cummings will be located in Newcastle, on Collingwood Street.

Budge said “I’m very excited to join The Tonic team and get involved with both new and existing clients. I’m really looking forward to utilising my writing skills as a qualified journalist, as well as building on the experience I have gained in public relations, events management and digital over the years.”

Cummings said: “It is a great time for The Tonic, with lots of new changes and prospects. Being a part of this growing team is very exciting and offers countless opportunities to put my PR training to use for national and regional clients. The new Nottingham office at the Garage Studios is a great space as we expand and bring on new clients.”

Kelly Hill, co-founder and managing director of The Tonic Communications, added: “We are now reaching our fifth year of business and what better way to celebrate this milestone than with a great and growing team. We are working on some really exciting projects at the moment and look forward to seeing what the future has in-store for The Tonic.”
