Nottingham dealmaker promoted to partner at Clearwater

Rob Burden

Clearwater International has promoted Nottingham-based director Rob Burden to partner.

Burden joined the firm in 2014 and focuses on the business services sector. As part of the Clearwater team Burden has specialised in deals in education and training, and worked closely with sectors such as TMT.

Notable transactions include advising on the buyout of Westleigh Partnership, the shareholders of Apple reseller Jigsaw24 on a secondary management buyout supported by Alcuin Capital Partners and PNC Business Credit, and also advising private equity firm LDC on its investment in leading software supplier to UK energy providers, ENSEK.

Clearwater International is now made up of 40 partners, with 13 being located in the UK. Burden’s promotion follows the recent appointment of Richard O’Donnell who joined the firm as a partner, and partner Mark Taylor joining the UK board.

Burden said: “I’m delighted to be joining the partnership. Clearwater has experienced great success and I’ve seen the business continue to progress each year. I’m proud to be part of such a driven team, enthusiastic to deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, and I look forward to contributing to the development of the business.”

Phil Burns, UK managing partner, Clearwater International added: “We’re proud to see the progression of another individual within the business. Rob has been successful in developing those around him as well as delivering great results, providing strong expertise and a dedicated approach, creating longstanding client relationships. We look forward to his further contribution to the business.”
