Social scene: The Head of Steam official Nottingham launch

The Head of Steam team in Nottingham

Nottingham’s newest real ale and craft beer destination has opened its doors to the public following three days of celebrations.

The Head of Steam, located in the former Missoula Montana Bar & Grill on High Pavement, officially launched on 22nd March, when guests were invited to choose from more than 120 local and world beers, and sample dishes from the menu.

Owned and operated by Hartlepool-based Camerons Brewery, the newly-renovated pub is set across two floors and has 38 beer taps, including 22 specialty keg lines. It offers a regularly-changing selection of guest ales from some of Nottinghamshire’s best-loved breweries such as Blue Monkey, Black Iris, Neon Raptor and Castle Rock.

Chris Soley, chief executive at Camerons Brewery, said: “We are really pleased to have received such positive feedback from members of the local community, who came along to try our beers and food ahead of opening night. It was also great to welcome so many pooches, including a Miniature Schnauzer, Jack Russell and King Charles Spaniel – clearly, word has got out we’re a dog-friendly pub.

“Beers, Oskar Blues Death By Coconut and Black Iris Bajan Breakfast have proven to be our most popular beers in the first week, while the Full Head of Steam Burger was the top choice among diners. Now the pub is officially open, the team is looking forward to meeting even more people.”
