On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Darren Jackson

Roundhouse Corporate, the commercial division of the Derby College Group, has appointed Darren Jackson as sales director.

Jackson joins Roundhouse Corporate with more than 12 years’ B2B sales management experience across multiple sectors including software development and training.

He will lead the Roundhouse Corporate sales operations – working with businesses across the UK to meet their apprenticeship and staff training requirements.

Jackson said: “The introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy has created wide-ranging opportunities for companies to address skills shortages and increase their competitive edge by recruiting apprentices and upskilling their existing workforce.

“Roundhouse Corporate has an excellent reputation for designing and delivering large scale apprenticeship and training programmes and for creating bespoke Roundhouse Thinking staff development courses.

“My role is to bring these two services together to offer a complete package for employers and to build on the strengths to achieve growth in this important part of the Derby College Group portfolio.”

Thomas Baines

Lincoln-based architectural firm LK2 has expanded its team with a new senior project architect as part of its ambitious growth plans.

Thomas Baines joins the team with more than 10 years’ experience in the industry. Specialising in commercial, healthcare and residential architecture, often with a heritage aspect, he has worked on a range of projects including Peterborough Queensgate shopping centre and a high end mixed use development in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.

Thomas said: “I’m excited to be joining the team at LK2. I’m particularly interested in developing new work streams and bringing in new clients and projects, and LK2 seemed the ideal environment to do this.

“The company is undertaking some really exciting projects and the team are always proactively pursuing new opportunities and building new relationships.”
