On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Ian Mitchell

FHP Property Consultants has added to its business rates team with the appointment of former Nottingham City Council head of business Rates, Ian Mitchell.

Mitchell joins FHP after nine years at the Council.

He said: “After nine years as head of business Rates at Nottingham City Council I am delighted to join FHP. The team here is already terrific, led by Andrew Chapman and Alastair Fearn. Hopefully my experience on the ‘other side of the fence’ will help me secure savings for business property occupiers far and wide as there are certainly a few tricks of the trade that I believe I can utilise.”

Adrian Hallam

Lincolnshire-based Obam Stairlifts, which helps people with mobility problems live more independently, has appointed two new members of staff to its customer-focused team.

Obam Stairlifts has welcomed Adrian Hallam from Newark to the engineering team. He will support the business by delivering servicing and maintenance work as well as out-of-hours breakdown cover.

Hallam said: “It’s a great company to work for. The team are friendly, loyal and trustworthy – which is a great attribute, especially as we work with lots of vulnerable people.

“Every day is different, and I enjoy meeting our customers and using my problem-solving skills to help get them regain the use of their stairlift as quickly as possible.”

Joining Adrian and the team is Simon Wright who has taken up a newly-established role as logistics coordinator, having recently relocated from Kent.

Wright has eight years’ experience in planning and logistics and recently spent a year organising the installation team at Swale Heating.

“It’s great to see Obam Stairlifts taking a more strategic approach to its planning,” he said. “In my new role I’ll be looking at where we can make the best use of our engineers’ time, while still delivering our high standard of care to our customers.”
