£22m Nottingham Trent Uni Medtech building gets green light

How the MTIF will look

Plans for a £22m Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) have been given the go-ahead.

GSSArchitects has been appointed by NTU as project managers, architects, lead consultants, quantity surveyors and principal designers for the development at the Clifton Campus.

The MTIF project will enable the University to carry out advanced research in convergent medical systems to reduce both the time to market and costs associated with the creation and commercialisation of innovative health technologies, medical devices and therapeutics.

The project is the latest approval as part of a wider campus masterplanning exercise and will target BREEAM Excellent. The building has been designed to a high commercial quality to provide an inspirational and cutting edge innovation facility and in addition to this recent approval GSS are currently designing Phase 2 of the MTIF project which will deliver a new build Commercialisation Facility.
