McDonald’s reveals plans to create 65 jobs in Nottingham city centre

Fast-food restaurant McDonald’s says it wants to create more than 65 full- and part-time jobs in Nottingham city centre after plans were revealed for a new 7,600 sq ft venue in the intu Victoria Centre.

The burger chain wants to open the new restaurant in a vacant unit facing onto Milton Street, which has space for outside seating.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s told TheBusinessDesk.com: “We can confirm that we have submitted a planning application to open a new restaurant in the intu Victoria Centre in Nottingham. We look forward to working with the shopping centre and the local authorirties to progress the application.”

The last tenant in the unit was Coast to Coast, the American restaurant and bar, which closed in February 2017 with the loss of 20 jobs.

If the plans are given the go-ahead it will be a boon for intu, which has struggled with its Clocktower Dining concept after the closure of Joe’s Kitchen, Coast to Coast and Stonebaked Pizza Co over the last year.
