Lincolnshire entrepreneurs need to shout more about “region of opportunity”

Lincolnshire is a region “with so much opportunity”, but the region’s entrepreneurs need to stop being so modest about their achievements – that was the message from the speaker at TheBusinessDesk.com’s Lincolnshire Entrepreneurs’ Lunch last Friday (18 May).

Liz Cartwright told an audience of around 40 business leaders and professionals: “There is a tremendous appetite for innovation in Lincolnshire – and yet we are all so humble about it. I think it’s about time we stopped being humble and started realising just how far we’ve come and what we can do in the future.”

Cartwright told the audience of her story from working as a trainee reporter on the Lincolnsire Echo to running her own PR and communications agency in Nottingham – and eventually moving back into the city to open the second Cartwright Communications office last year.

She also confirmed to the audience that the firm would be opening a third office in the Midlands next year.

James Sewell, partner at sponsors Wright Vigar opened the lunch by welcoming everyone to the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Lincoln and outlined his company’s work with SMEs and businesses of all sizes in the region.
