Lincoln developer reveals nationwide expansion plan

An Arbor Living park home

Luxury retirement developer Arbor Living has expanded its team with the appointment of Liam O’Sullivan as a land buyer and has laid out plans for UK expansion.

The company is currently developing two high-end park home sites; Lakeshore, which will have 64 properties when complete and is located next to the popular Burton Waters complex in Lincoln, and Willowpool in Lymm, Cheshire, which features 13 homes. Both are set within landscaped grounds, close to water.

Liam O’Sullivan, who has a degree in construction management and five years of experience in land buying, joins Arbor Living from Redrow.

In his new role, O’Sullivan will be responsible for assisting Arbor Living with the delivery of its expansion strategy, which involves purchasing between three to five development sites per annum across the UK.

He said: “After meeting with the Arbor Living team for the first time I knew that I wanted to work for the company. The drive and ambition of the business was obvious from our initial conversation and it is a privilege to be joining a team which is setting the benchmark in style and quality, and challenging perceptions of park homes.

“Arbor Living provides a lifestyle without compromise for the discerning mature buyer. There is a huge demand for quality, low maintenance, single storey homes from this demographic and it’s a great opportunity for me to use my skills to help Arbor Living continue to deliver its homes.”

Arbor Living says it aims to sell 100 homes a year once it has delivered a further 10 park home sites over the course of the next four years.

Arbor says that Lakeshore and Willowpool have reached over 50% capacity ahead of completion. With Arbor Living’s investment of £3m into its 20-acre Lakeshore site in Lincoln, it has become the firm’s first development of its kind.

Graham Richardson, managing director at Arbor Living, said: “Lakeshore and Willowpool are very special places to live and offer over-55s an alternative lifestyle choice when they are looking to downsize or release equity in their property.

“We aim to deliver something a bit different for people moving into semi-retirement or retirement, giving them a luxurious yet practical lifestyle without the comprise of a traditional bungalow and we want to offer that to more people across the UK.

“Liam’s role is vital in helping us find more stunning locations for our buyers and it’s fantastic to have him on this journey with us. With his extensive experience in the industry, he’s a real asset to the team.”

As well as site acquisitions, Arbor Living says it is also looking at joint ventures with land owners or other park owners.
