Green light for mixed-use scheme in historic Nottingham building

The Court

Plans to turn an historic Nottingham city centre building into a mixed-use development have been given the go-ahead by council planners.

Carlton Street Trading has been given the green light to redevelop The Court on 3 St Peter’s Gate into a mixture of either a restaurant or retail space on the ground floor, with seven apartments on the upper floors.

The Court is a grade II listed building situated within the Old Market Square Conservation Area. Built in 1875 to the designs of JG Sorby, the building is Italianate in style and has two-storeys, plus attic and basement.

The building was used as a County Court until the 1980, but has been vacant for some time, and is deemed as a listed building “at risk”, according to Nottingham City Council.
