A52 closed in Nottingham after bridge hit

The A52 is closed eastbound between the A609 and the A6514 near Lenton due to damaged bridge.

The damaged bridge is where the A52 passes over the A6514, however, says Highways England, due to the severity of the damage the road has been closed pending an assessment by a bridge structural engineer.

Traffic is being diverted northbound on Middleton Boulevard, then eastbound on Wollaton Road until the junction with Triumph Road. Take Triumph Road southbound to then join the A6200 westbound and then re-join the A52 at the roundabout.

There are local delays on the approach to the closure therefore allow extra journey travel time if heading in this direction.
