RCS aims to upgrade all branded mobile communication, from relatively rudimentary activity such as sales promotions and delivery updates for example, to far richer content that Esendex says consumers have never experienced before. consumers, have ever experienced before. This includes the ability to reschedule an appointment or complete a purchase, without ever leaving the phone’s messaging app.

Now, Esendex has partnered with leading online supermarket Ocado to create “example interactive customer journeys”. These will be explored during a one day workshop, offering attendees the opportunity to see RCS in action and understand the true potential of this new technology.

Esendex will be joined by Tim Atkinson at Google, who will be discussing RCS Business Messaging for Brands, David O’Byrne from the GSMA who will be speaking about
RCS – Global Market Update and Launch Plans, and there will be a demonstration of concept RCS journeys from building society, Nationwide.

Esendex chief executive Geoff Love said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside such a forward-thinking, ambitious company as Ocado to demo the future potential of RCS. Having our friends at Google and the GSMA presenting alongside us will really help to build the picture of just how powerful RCS will be for the future of communication. We believe that RCS is the next generation of text messaging and can’t wait to show off its capabilities.”

A spokesperson from Ocado said: “We are passionate about improving our processes and communication channels for our customers. We strive to remain at the forefront of all technological advances, which is why partnering with Esendex to develop RCS experiences for our brand seemed like the logical next step.”
