Nottingham-based creative agency celebrates national design award

The RizkMcCay team

Design and marketing agency RizkMcCay is celebrating after winning two awards at the national creative Chip Shop Awards 2018 at Electronic Brixton in London.

After being shortlisted, the Nottingham-based agency fought off competition from across the UK in the Best Health category for its hypothetical NHS campaign ‘Keeping Organ Donation in the Family’.

The campaign targets young people to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation using memorable phrases.

Not only did RizkMcCay receive the vinegar award of ‘high condimendation’ within the Best Health category, the team also clinched the sole chip award for the ‘Funnier in the Pub’ category, a special award handpicked by the judging panel from across all categories.

Marc Wilson, the graphic designer at RizkMcCay behind the creative for the health campaign, said: “It was a great honour to collect these awards on behalf of RizkMcCay. I didn’t want this advert to come across too serious despite organ donation being a very important topic. It is fantastic the judges agreed with the tongue-in-cheek approach awarding us the Funnier in the Pub win!”

Kylie Elson, senior account manager at RizkMcCay, said: “It’s fantastic to see the work of our talented team recognised on a national level. The whole premise of these awards having no restrictions really allowed our whole team, not just the designers, to show the skills and talents we have within the business, which makes a change from the very specific briefs we work on day-to-day.

“A huge congratulations must go to our highly skilled and creative team for coming up with such brilliant, award-winning work, and of course to the other winners on the night.”
