On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Phil McKiernan

Phil McKiernan has been appointed by multi-disciplinary property consultancy Pulse Associates to lead its new Leicester office that will officially open later this month.

The firm, which has recently taken on premises in De Montfort Street, says it has “ambitious plans” for growth across the Midlands and further afield over the coming months.

McKiernan said: “The East Midlands and in particular Leicester, has huge potential and I am very excited to be taking on this new role where I will be able to help clients to maximise the potential of this thriving city and raise its profile nationally and internationally.

“I am really looking forward to being able to have that personal touch with clients that you can get at a firm like Pulse. I am passionate about delivering great results and Pulse is the perfect place for me to do that.

“As well as being ambitious with a hugely talented team, there is a real sense of fun about Pulse and a real team spirit which is fantastic. The business feels progressive and vibrant and I am delighted to be a part of it and to be able to drive growth across the region from the new Leicester office.”

Pulse was established in 2009 and has offices in both Nottingham and London, with the new Leicester base set to officially launch 28 June.

Five new recruits have joined On Event Production Co. to help it make further inroads into the ‘experiential’ events sector.

The firm, which is based in Castle Donington, delivers creative production services for business events, conferences, brand activations, product launches and live music events.

George Henvey joins straight from leaving school as warehouse apprentice.

Josh Powney joins as warehouse co-ordinator. He had previously worked as a warehouse technician at another local AV and production company.

Steph Martin, who graduates from the University of Derby this year, where she studied technical theatre, joins as a fabrication assistant.

Stuart Ward joins as an additional fabrication manager. He has more than 15 years’ industry experience. Martin ran his own scenic fabrication business, Peek Design, for many years. He is no stranger to the team at On, having freelanced for the company regularly over the past few years.

Karl Johnstone joins the firm from TDC, in Australia, as a production manager to bolster On’s in-house production team. He has significant production experience of over 15 years, particularly in video and projection.
