A boutique hotel at a Lincolnshire golf club has been completed by construction firm Gelder.

The eight-bedroom, boutique hotel at Gainsborough Golf Club has been built as an extension to the existing clubhouse, where previously two large apartments occupied ground floor and first floor space.

The hotel is owned by golf equipment manufacturer PING, which has owned the club for more than 30 years and uses it as its European headquarters.

Dave Gladwin, construction director at Gelder Group, said: “PING is a well-known and highly desirable brand and, with its roots firmly in Gainsborough, it’s fantastic they have further invested in Gainsborough Golf Club, to now provide guest accommodation facilities, enabling players and those attending events at the club the option of staying the night.

“Gelder Group is a very active member of Invest Gainsborough, an initiative to encourage investment and skills into the area, and PING’s ongoing investments and presence in the town helps to show other businesses that Gainsborough is a great place to live, work and invest in.

“We are really pleased to have completed the project at the golf club, which now offers superb guest accommodation, complimenting the excellent facilities they already have.”

John Clark, managing director of PING Europe, said: “We are delighted to open the doors to guests at our newly developed guest accommodation at Gainsborough Golf Club, which will enhance the facilities and options available to those playing golf, or attending the many events and functions that we hold at the club.

“With limited options locally for boutique-style hotels, we also hope the rooms will become a popular choice for those travelling to, or through, the Gainsborough area and are looking for a first-class guest experience.

“It has been a pleasure working with the Gelder Group, who have worked exceptionally hard to deliver a stunning end result to this project.”
