Derby tech firm battles exchange rates as profits fall

Derby computer graphics and digital display specialist Datapath says it has been “elevated above the competition” following the release of new software.

The firm is hailing the Windows 10 drivers for its controllers and WallControl 10, its application software, despite a drop of over £1m in profits which it is putting down to exchange rate differences.

Turnover at the firm rose from £24.6m in 2017 to £26.9m to the end of March this year, while profits dropped to just below £5.5m.

The company invested heavily in its US sales team over the year, and, as such, employee numbers rose from 87 to 101.
