Derby engineering consultancy Rodgers Leask has undergone a management buyout by its current leadership team.

Directors Lawrence Pacey, Paul Spencer, Kully Toor, Stewart Friel and Kriston Harvey have bought the company from chairman and owner Andy Leask, who co-founded the company with the late John Rodgers in Derby more than 30 years ago.

Paul Spencer becomes managing director and Lawrence Pacey will take on the role of business development director.

Kully Toor, Stewart Friel and Kriston Harvey will continue with the core business activities of structural, civil and transport, and geo-environmental engineering respectively.

Andy Leask will work as an ambassador for the company.

As well as its headquarters at St James House, St Mary’s Wharf, Mansfield Road, Derby, the company has offices at Longbridge and Bristol employing more than 70 people.

Spencer said: “We are thrilled to have completed the MBO with Andy’s co-operation, and while we can be proud of our achievements so far under his tenure we are equally excited about our plans for the future. The change will be seamless and the company will be maintaining a ‘business as usual’ focus – enabling our clients to increase confidence in the engineering solutions that we supply”.

The MBO was supported by Sterling Capital Investments, Investec Capital Solutions and Flint Bishop Solicitors.
