Building and roofing specialist Hodgson Sayers has chosen Nottinghamshire as its first base outside of the North East following on from a significant framework appointment last year.

The company has established an office in Hucknall after securing a place on the Efficiency East Midlands Framework (EEM) in 2017. The company has already won contracts worth more than £1m on a variety of roofing projects in Leicester, Rugby, Northampton and Nottingham.

John Sayers, managing director of Hodgson Sayers, said: “While the North East is our heartland and the focus of so much of our activity, we are ambitious and realise that expansion outside of our traditional market is a natural next step.

“The EEM framework has provided us with a consistent level of work and given us the confidence to establish a base in the region.”

Eddy Maxwell MBE has been appointed as contracts manager for the Midlands. He ran his own contracting business for 35 years and has also been involved in a number of initiatives aimed at assisting the long term unemployed back into work.

He added: “I believe that there are tremendous opportunities for Hodgson Sayers in the Midlands. The recession saw many casualties in the roofing contracting sector in the region, so there is certainly a role for a major player.”
