New design centre for Coalville packaging firm

Leicestershire-based packaging firm Antalis has opened a new packaging design centre at the its head office in Coalville.

The new Smart Packaging Centre, on the Hilltop Industrial Estate, includes a design lab and solutions centre. It wasopened by Antalis chief operating officer Hervé Poncin and will allow businesses to bring in their products and sit down with Antalis designers to create new custom packaging, including live samples, which can then be rigorously tested and modified if necessary.

The Smart Packaging Centre will form part of Antalis’ European network of design facilities, which currently includes 15 packaging designers spread across four dedicated labs in France, Poland and Germany.

David Hope, packaging business director at Antalis, said: “Recognising the rising challenges facing UK businesses, particularly those in the e-commerce, logistics and manufacturing industries, who are under immense time and cost pressures, we’ve invested heavily in creating the new Smart Packaging Centre to address this.

“The result is the ultimate one-stop-shop, designed to take packaging innovation to a whole new level, and where businesses can have all their packaging needs taken care of under one roof.
