Fashion and lifestyle retailer reveals plans to create 100 Leicestershire jobs

How the new offices would look

Lifestyle brand Joules has revealed plans to create 100 jobs in Market Harborough.

The company has lodged a planning application with Harborough District Council to see the part demolition of the 30,000 sq ft Compass House, which it bought for £4.4m last summer. The building stands next to the Joules head office and, when redeveloped, will stretch to over 66,000 sq ft. Some 435 staff would work at the new HQ, which could rise to 527 by 2024.

A planning statement reads: “The proposed development will centralise Joules’ head office functions on to one campus, making use of both existing and new structures on the site to create a high-quality and more sustainable development.”

The proposal follows a decision by Joules to centralise their head office functions into one building complex. The head office is currently spread across five separate buildings located at The Point, Rockingham Road.

Joules has consistently bucked the retail gloom in recent years, posting impressive results.
