On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Conor Mcguigan

All Foundations, the Derbyshire rail and construction piling company, has added to its senior team with the appointment of Conor McGuigan, who will run the day-to-day commercial operations.

McGuigan, a senior quantity surveyor, arrives from Dyer and Butler, where he was an SQS responsible for an operations team in Sheffield carrying out civils and railway works for Network Rail, airports authorities and Morrison Utilities.

Steve Powell, rail manager at All Foundations, said: “Conor is very experienced and a major asset to the team, particularly on the rail side of the business operations, where he will bring huge expertise.”

The company has recently completed work on the digitalisation project of the London Underground station at Barking.

Jim Wainwright

Derbyshire metal recycling and waste management specialist, Ward, has added to its senior management team with the appointment of Jim Wainwright as general manager for waste and logistics.

Wainwright has almost 30 years waste management industry expertise, predominantly at Veolia, with a spell as an independent consultant.

He said: “I’m already loving it at Ward. It was a culture shock at first, moving from such a large organisation to a smaller family business, but that’s what is exciting. I love the can-do attitude of the whole team, the pace and the ability to make a positive impact in a short space of time. I’m looking forward to helping Ward grow by bringing some more corporate and structured ideas around transport, sales and recycling, while still retaining the family values that the business was founded on.”
