intu ready to announce Broadmarsh tenants ‘soon’

How the new Broadmarsh could look

A host of high-end retail and leisure names are on the tenant wish-list of the owners of the soon-to-be-redeveloped intu Broadmarsh.

According to sources close to the project, intu has spent the summer targeting the likes of Boden, Mango and The White Company and has been in discussions with The Ivy, Cath Kidston and Seasalt.

Other targets include Sports Direct, Redbrick Mill, Five Guys and Jack & Jones.

If these brands do sign up to the redeveloped mall, they will join cinema chain The Light and Hollywood Bowl – alread announced as anchor tenants on the £81m scheme.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager for intu in Nottingham, told TheBusinessDesk.com: “intu Broadmarsh is being transformed and will bring new retail and leisure brands to Nottingham, creating new places to eat, relax and play from day time through to evening.

“We have already signed up two anchor tenants – The Light cinema and Hollywood Bowl – and there is significant interest from retailers and restaurants in taking space at the centre, so more announcements will be coming soon.”

In July, intu, the shopping mall operator, told TheBusinessDesk.com that it plans to start major redevelopment works on its Broadmarsh centre in Nottingham later this year.
