intu set to launch marketing suite for Broadmarsh redevelopment

intu has moved its centre management office at its Broadmarsh shopping centre in a move it says will make way for anchor tenant The Light cinema.

The intu Broadmarsh team will now be based in Severns House at Middle Pavement – owned by intu and Nottingham City Council – following a refurbishment by Bowmer & Kirkland.

The 7,000 sq ft building is now also home to intu’s marketing suite for the redevelopment, a manned reception, office space and site accommodation for the contractors delivering the project.

General manager for intu in Nottingham, Nigel Wheatley, said: “This is another step towards the redevelopment of intu Broadmarsh and will help us to create a centre with a new mix of places to shop, eat, relax and play for our customers to enjoy, including The Light cinemas and Hollywood Bowl, both of which are already committed to the redeveloped centre.

“Preparatory works have been underway for a number of months and we are looking forward to seeing the redevelopment of intu Broadmarsh progress.”

He added: “The transformation of intu Broadmarsh will bring new retail and leisure brands to the city, encouraging more people to visit Nottingham throughout the day and into the evening. Not only that, but a new entrance on Middle Hill and open street at Drury Walk will make it even easier to get around the city, improving the experience for visitors.”

Work to prepare the centre for the redevelopment have been underway since last year, with the refurbishment works of Severn’s House starting on-site in August 2017.
