Public to get say on 238-acre warehouse park

How the new scheme would look

People living and working close to a proposed new warehouse park at Junction 11 of the M42, near Appleby Magna, are to get the chance to air their views on the scheme.

Developer IM Properties wants to the develop the 238-acre site on fields near the motorway and has submitted plans to North West Leicestershire District Council.

Before the application is heard by the council’s Planning Committee, the public have the opportunity to submit their views.

Councillor Richard Blunt, Leader of North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “Now that a planning application has been received for this site we want to gather as much feedback from the public as we can.

“The impact on nearby villages is a key consideration for any development on this site, and we want people to know that they can have their say.

“North West Leicestershire is thriving economically and applications that invest in our district and create jobs are welcome, but we need to balance these needs against the potential impact on the surrounding villages and countryside.”

A date has not yet been set for the application to appear before North West Leicestershire District Council’s Planning Committee.
