Manufacturer ‘open to acquisitions’ after profits rise

Lincolnshire plastic sheet and roofing firm Molan says it expects to see its profits rise during 2018 after posting its full-year results for last year.

Turnover rose just over half a million pounds to £13.9m for the year-ending 31 December 2017, with profits after tax going back into seven figures at £1.15m.

Molan says 2017 brought “new change” as polycarbonate material prices began to escalate – something which it minimised by better forward-planning, competitive buying and an increased stock holding.

A statement fro, the company, which employs over 80 people in Sleaford, said: “The company remains open to considering acquisition opportunities as they arise in the market, and will continue to diversify the product range while utilising the core assets of the business to the best of our abilities.”
