Name change for East Mids law firm

The new team of directors

Fidler & Pepper, the Nottinghamshire law firm, has revealed a change in operational structure and how it is regulated.

The firm specialises in conveyancing, wills, trusts and probate services and from October will be regulated by The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), rather than the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

The firm will change its name to Fidler & Pepper Lawyers, with current partners Mark Slade, Matthew Slade and Richard Howard being joined by Joanne Godson, head of people and operations, as directors.

Slade: “We’re a thoroughly modern business, with a modern approach and we firmly believe the move to the CLC will help us to grow what we do and how we do it.

“From what we have seen, and our experience so far, the CLC is a proactive organisation that works closely with its member firms to help them grow and thrive.

“We’re building something special here, and when we say we want it to be a magical place to work, we really mean it. It is, quite simply, the right thing to do. This latest move is the next step in the evolution of our modern, specialist law firm.”

The CLC’s regulatory activities include maintaining a register of all licensed conveyancers, setting standards to regulate the professional practice, conduct and discipline of licensed conveyancers and monitoring work and conduct.
