Traffic collision closes A1 in Notts

Commuters using the A1 in Nottinghamshire are set for delays this morning.

The road is closed northbound between the B6325 (North Muskham) and the A614 (Apleyhead) due to a traffic collision. Nottinghamshire Police are on scene, and investigation work will be required.

Traffic is being diverted via the ‘Solid Square’ diversion symbol. From the B6325, take the B6325 to South Muskham. At the mini-roundabout, take the A616 through Kneesall and Ompton, to Ollerton. Continue on the A616 to the junction with the A614, then take the A614 Blyth Road, continuing for approximately 7 miles to the Apleyhead junction, and rejoin the A1 northbound.

Highways England says the diversion route will take around 50 minutes under normal traffic conditions. The road is expected to be closed into the morning rush hour.
