On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Timms Solicitors has expanded two teams with senior appointments operating across the firm’s office network in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter, Burton-upon-Trent, Swadlincote and Ashby.

Nikola Guthrie has joined as head of commercial property from Freeths where she was a senior associate.

Meanwhile Adrian Rose has joined the Family Law team from Cartwright King.

As an experienced lawyer and Resolution-trained mediator, Rose will introduce the family mediation service to Timms.

Managing partner Fiona Moffat explained: “Timms Solicitors continues to expand in response to our growing client base across this area.

“I am delighted that we continue to attract high calibre professionals to join our established teams.”

Brian Ward

Construction industry networking group, East Midlands First Thursday Club, has welcomed long-standing member Brian Ward to its management team.

As technical director for Buildings and Places at US engineering firm AECOM, Nottingham-based Ward brings a wealth of construction and engineering expertise to the new voluntary role.

He said: “I’ve been a member of First Thursday Club for many years and it is a really valuable network for construction professionals. I’m keen to be more involved and I hope to play an active part in the day to day management of the group, as well as introduce a few new ideas to help shape it’s future success.”

Other members of the First Thursday Club management team include BWB Consulting, Derry Limited, EB Secretarial Solutions, Franklin Ellis, Peter Graham Consulting and Willmott Dixon. In the last 15 years the not-for-profit First Thursday Club has gone from 30 members to over 200.
