Mowgli to open second East Midlands restaurant

Fast-expanding Mowgli, the Indian street food group backed by investment company Foresight Group, is set to open a Leicester venue.

The restaurant chain, which recently opened in Nottingham is run by Nisha Katona, who revealed on her Twitter account that her company will open in St Martins Square.

Katona tweeted: “It’s been a long road to get here but I’m so excited to announce Mowgli Leicester which I signed today. We will be opening in the most perfectly ‘Mowgli-esque’ St Martins Square amidst the pretty Leicester lanes. We aim to start our build in the spring. We can’t wait.”

Katona is a food writer featured in a number of publications including the Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times and The Independent. Her YouTube cooking channel has an international following. In 2015 she published her first book Pimp My Rice followed by the The Spice Tree in 2017. The Mowgli Cook Book was published in April 2018

Mowgli has two restaurants in Liverpool, as well as venues in Manchester, Birmingham and Oxford and now Nottingham.
