Stowe Family Law has opened in Nottingham, taking its office count to 17.

The office is headed up by new managing partner, Sushma Kotecha, who joins from Shoosmiths.

The office will have access to the firm’s in-house forensicaccountancy team who are trained to examine financial disclosure specifically within divorce proceedings.

Kotecha said: “It’s an exciting time for Stowe and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to open and lead this new office in Nottingham. I look forward to helping my clients resolve their problems and disputes with my experience and holistic approach to dealing with family break-ups. As an accredited family mediator, I work to resolve issues in the least destructive way, avoiding court where possible, using mediation and collaborative law.”

Stowe Family Law chief executive Charles Hartwell said: “I am delighted to announce that Stowe has opened its first Midlands office in Nottingham. Sushma will lead a team of expert family lawyers that will focus on providing the very best legal advice in the area, with an approach that is tailored to the needs of each individual client. With access to nearly 70 family lawyers within the firm, Stowe has the experience and knowledge to efficiently handle any case; no matter how complex or simple it may seem.”

Hartwell added: “Each of our lawyers are selected not just for their technical knowledge and ability to understand the best approach for each case, but to embrace our culture and be able to take the burden off our client’s shoulders during what can be an extremely difficult and emotional journey. When I first met Sushma, I knew instantly that she was perfect to run our new Nottingham office.”
