Faithful + Gould look back on Hot Property

Neil Walker

As we speed through October we are getting ever closer to the biggest event of the year – Nottingham Hot Property (NHP). With this in mind, we sat down with Neil Walker from SNC-Lavalin’s Faithful+Gould business to find out a bit more about his involvement in Hot Property and his most memorable moment.

Neil said: “I’ve been involved with Nottingham Hot Property from its initial inception and during that time I have met many wonderful people and experienced some fantastic performances. There is a huge amount of work that goes into making the show happen and preparing the performers; and I am lucky enough to have been involved over many years.

“One of the stand out individuals from Hot Property was Colin Walker who was not only a trustee and responsible for helping bring the events together, but also integral to many great performances as a very talented drummer.

“Sadly, Colin passed away last year after a battle with cancer. Therefore, as a tribute to Colin, Tom Brogan, Jamie Denton, Austin Moore, Andy Clarkson, Tim Boxford and I performed ‘My Hero’ by the Foo Fighters at NHP 2017. It was an incredibly emotional moment for all of those involved and with a crowd of more than 500 people singing along, it made for a truly memorable moment and a fitting tribute to a great man.

“This year’s event theme is ‘Nottstock’, as a festival goer myself I am keen to see how it will work out as it’s going to be a little different to previous years. I’ve been involved with lots of different themes and all of them have been successful and had something a little different. However, I think this year could well be the best one yet.”

Alongside Faithful+Gould there are eight other sponsors including Millward – the headline sponsor – Pulse Associates, Couch Perry Wilkes, Samclo Construction, Paragon Interiors, Fraser Brown, CPMG and Browne Jacobson. Joining these are Invest in Nottingham, PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency Blimey Creative and design and print agency Ginger Root.
