Land deal to bring 80 Lincolnshire homes forward

How Westfield Park will look

Work is underway on the first 80 homes to be built at a prime residential site in Louth, Lincolnshire, after developer Charterpoint sold part of the land to house builder Snape Properties.

The 35-acre site off Grimsby Road, approximately half a mile from Louth town centre, has planning permission for 240 homes in total, as well as a two-acre allocation for senior living accommodation.

East Midlands-based Charterpoint Group previously secured outline planning permission for Westfield Park, with reserved matter planning approval secured in September, and has now completed a sale to Snape Properties, which plans to build the first 80 homes.

“Westfield Park is a super site, close to Louth town centre, with its good range of services and amenities, and near to Fairfield Estate, which is the main employment area of the town,” said Adrian Goose, chief executive of the Charterpoint Group.

“It is adjacent to what is regarded as the premier residential area of Louth and will provide a spacious environment both in terms of plot size and extensive open space, including a play area and ‘green’ streets.

“The development will provide a range of homes in a sustainable environment to help alleviate the chronic shortage of housing in Lincolnshire, and Charterpoint is delighted to announce that the green light has been signalled for the first phase of building to get underway, which will also provide the necessary infrastructure to enable the senior living area of the site to be developed.”

Charterpoint, which is based at Edwalton near Nottingham, specialises in developing first-class senior living accommodation, sustainable housing schemes, and primary care premises.

Snape Properties is a Lincolnshire-based house builder. The firm is nearing completion at a development of just over 100 homes at Louth Road, Holton-le-Clay, and the first houses are now released at Westfield Park.
