Plans revealed for hotel and apartment scheme on former nightclub site

How the new scheme could look

Plans have been submitted to Leicester City Council for a residential and hotel complex on the corner of Churchgate and Burley’s Way in the city.

Designed by Maber, the new development, to be built by a company called Metalic Limited, would include a 14-storey apartment block and an 8-storey hotel on the site of the former Liquid nightclub on Leicester’s inner ring road.

The hotel would include 170 bedrooms, while the residential portion of the scheme would comprise of 142 units – a mixture of 1 and 2-bed and studio apartments.

A planning statement with the application, states: “Buildings of this quality are few and far between in Leiceter and a development on this nature can completely transform the environment around it, lifting the spirits of the city and creating the cosmopolitan atmosphere that we all aspire to.”
