Derby Grammar School is set to allow boys into Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 from September 2019.

The School has plans to invest in its facilities over the coming months in order to prepare dynamic and stimulating age-appropriate learning and play spaces, ready for September.

Head, Dr Ruth Norris said: “This is a very exciting new venture for us and completes our offering of an all-through education, committed to the needs of boys.

“Our Junior School is an incredibly happy and vibrant place where our boys are nurtured and challenged in equal measure. Our curriculum is both rigorous and creative and fully enriched with extensive extra-curricular offerings.

“Traditionally, we have accepted boys from Year 3 upwards and have experienced increasing demand for places to be made available in the younger years. Now we are delighted to make the announcement that our doors will be open to these three new year groups this September.”

April Sly, head of primary school added: “These facilities will complement our current offering of extensive leafy grounds, perfect for adventure play in a natural environment, complete with a discovery garden, adventure playground and the upcoming creation of a forest school. All our boys have the added benefit of access to our extensive sports facilities, including sports hall, pitches and Astroturf at our Rykneld site: perfect for letting off steam”
