Sisters land funding deal to open B&B

Holden House

Two sisters have moved from London and Manchester to the Derbyshire countryside to pursue their dream of running their own B&B after landing a bank funding deal.

Anna Kuszta, who previously worked in the finance sector, and her sister Yulia Zadarko, have bought Holden House B&B in Shardlow, with help from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

Kuszta said: “Moving to the countryside and running our own B&B had been nothing more than a pipe dream for a long time. When Holden House came on the market, we went to stay at the property as a test drive and immediately started thinking about how to make the dream a reality.

“The team at Lloyds Bank were on hand throughout the entire purchase to listen to any concerns and had a deep understanding of what we wanted to achieve. For example, the team knew that it was important to us that the B&B maintain its friendly, family feel.

“The last couple of months have been really busy, and we’ve had great feedback from guests, which is a strong sign of things to come. We look forward to working with the team at Lloyds Bank in the future as we expand.”

Belinda Smith, area director of SME Banking at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “With a growing number of people opting for a staycation in the UK and enjoy the countryside on their doorstep, business is thriving at local hotels and pubs. It’s hugely rewarding to have helped Anna and Yulia tap into this demand, make a big lifestyle change and fulfil their ambitions.”
