Leicestershire pub changes hands after six-figure funding deal

The George Inn in Coleorton, Leicestershire has been bought by husband and wife, Chris and Kerrie Perrin, after they landed a six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC.

The pair say they identified The George Inn as the perfect business venture due to its popularity amongst local residents. They had previously worked on luxury and private yachts as head chef and chief stewardess for over 12 years.

Following the deal, four full-time jobs have been created, including front of house staff and kitchen porters. The duo say they hope to create more jobs in preparation for a busy Christmas and New Year.

Chris Perrin said: “Taking ownership of our first business together is a special moment. Both Kerrie and I are over the moon that HSBC was able to support our plans. We have both worked abroad for a number of years and felt it was the right time to pursue our own ambitions.”

Elliott Watts, HSBC UK’s business development director in the East Midlands, said: “Chris and Kerrie’s experience of working on some of the world’s most exclusive yachts, as well as their desire to succeed, means that The George Inn is in good hands. We’re delighted to have supported the duo as they embark on this new and exciting chapter.”
